In 1790 Charles Willson Peale napravio je 18th stoljeća painting "Mrs. James Maccubin Carroll (Sophia Gough) (1772-1816)". The original was painted with the size of 30 x 24 3/4 in (76,2 x 62,9 cm) framed: 37 1/2 x 32 x 2 3/4 in (95,3 x 81,3 x 7 cm). Ulje na platnu was used by the American painter as the technique for the work of art. Today, this artpiece is in the the Galerija umjetnosti Univerziteta Yale digital art collection, which belongs to Yale University and is the oldest art museum of a university in the western hemisphere.
