The original artwork is inscribed with the text: "signed and dated lower left: Deußer 05". The painter, university teacher August Deusser was a European artist from Germany, whose art style can be attributed primarily to Art Nouveau. The European painter was born in 1870 in Cologne and died at the age of 72 in the year 1942 in Constance.
