Engleski: Vinova loza se može protumačiti kao laka alegorija ljubavi – žena bere grožđe za vino koje opija muškarca. Svojom velikom tehničkom virtuoznošću, Carl Larsson je bio odlično opremljen za uspjeh u žanru neorokokoa, koji se u velikoj mjeri oslanjao na sposobnost slikanja iluzornim sjajem. Lozu je kupio Herman Friedländer kada je bila prikazana na Protivničkoj izložbi Vid Seinens strand (Na obali rijeke Seine) u Stockholmu 1885.
