The name "palace of Belisarius" for this building is a fancy wording as it was widespread in the 19th century. In reality, it is in the building around the Tekfur Saray to those palace, which during the last 200 years of the Byzantine Empire the Basileus, the Byzantine emperor, served as a residence. Its formation time is set between the 12th and the early 14th century, the ground may extend into the early 10th century - to Belisarius, the most famous generals Emperor Justinian I, the traces of the building, however, can not be traced. The palace is located in the north of the city, between the outer and the inner wall of the last section of the Theodosian walls, but one of the Blachernenpalästen.
